The official "Denormalisation" strategy for tobacco control has evolved into state-sanctioned bullying. While health risks are acknowledged, this approach actively encourages social hostility, exclusion, and harassment of smokers.
It creates a "hostile environment" that severely impacts the mental health and dignity of citizens. We believe that public health initiatives should rely on education and support, not on strategies that incite shame, stigma, and psychological distress.
Our Request to Parliament
We have petitioned the House of Representatives to formally acknowledge the psychological harm caused by these policies and to review national campaigns to ensure they do not dehumanize citizens suffering from nicotine addiction.
